Celebration of Lights
This Black Friday (November 28th), Downtown Helena will once again shine bright with the Celebration of Lights!
1
Why the rebrand?
Formerly known as the "Parade of Lights," the event has been reimagined as a reverse parade. Why the change? Insurance costs are sky-high, but even more importantly, the data shows that reverse parades draw larger crowds who stay longer downtown and support local businesses.
2
Does it cost to have a spot?
Nope! We are trying to keep this event free for everyone. With the help of our sponsors, this event is free to participate in and attend.
3
Are there any rules?
Yes. We learned some lessons last year and hope to make this event better and brighter.
>GO ALL OUT! The more lights, the better. We would LOVE to see your booth SHINE.
>If bringing hot coco, bring it all ready made. Do NOT bring hot water heaters and/or kettles. The heaters kept blowing breakers last year.
>No idling. If decking out your car or truck, please have it in park and off.
>All vehicles must be set up by 4:30 PM and gone from the Walking Mall by 10 PM. If you plan on drinking, please designate a sober driver to get your float, and yourself, home safely. We respect those who made the choice not to drink and drive last year. However, floats cannot stay overnight on the Walking Mall.
